Unauthenticated command execution via crafted theme repository URL
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025
OS command injection in OliveTin 2025.4.22 custom themes allows remote attackers to execute commands through a crafted repository URL. The typeSafetyCheckUrl function accepts shell metacharacters because url.ParseRequestURI checks URI syntax, after which the value reaches a command executed by sh -c. Exploitation requires the Get OliveTin Theme action to be configured and network-reachable; injected commands run with the service process's privileges.
