Arbitrary raw disk access via unchecked driver I/O
Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025
Improper privilege validation in EaseUS Todo Backup 1.2.0.1 allows local users to read and write arbitrary raw disk sectors. The eudskacs.sys 20250328 device object accepts IRP_MJ_READ and IRP_MJ_WRITE requests without enforcing the caller privileges required for raw disk I/O. Exploitation requires the driver to be installed and low-privileged local access, enabling sensitive file reads, disk corruption or a system crash, and local privilege escalation.
