User data disclosure via substring origin matching
Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Origin validation error in @elysiajs/cors before 1.3.1 allows remote attackers to read protected user data through crafted origins. The processOrigin string branch uses substring matching, so an allowlisted domain is accepted anywhere within the supplied Origin host. Exploitation requires a string-based CORS allowlist and a browser request carrying data or credentials that the target endpoint exposes cross-origin.
