Stored XSS via unrestricted HTML file upload
Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stored XSS in CS-Cart 4.18.3 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in other users' browsers through an uploaded HTML file. The upload handler accepts HTML without restricting the file type, and the application later serves that file for inline rendering from its trusted origin. Exploitation requires another user to access the uploaded file; the resulting same-origin script can harvest credentials or alter content in that user's session.
