CVE-2025-50740Public exploit

Browser script execution via unencoded Wi-Fi SSID

Published Aug 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025

Cross-site scripting in AutoConnect 1.4.2 allows physically proximate attackers to execute JavaScript via a crafted Wi-Fi SSID. The /_ac/config page inserts scanned SSID values into its network-selection markup without HTML encoding, so attribute-breaking text becomes executable. Exploitation requires a victim to open or refresh that interface while the malicious access point is in radio range; script execution occurs in the victim's browser and can alter the page or expose its session data.
