Chat history disclosure via exposed URL token
Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025
Information disclosure in Perplexity AI Web Application 2.51.0 allows remote attackers to read shared chat histories through a tokenized URL. The /search/ endpoint places the bearer token in the URL and returns the associated conversation without authentication or token expiration. Possession of a valid token obtained from browser history, referrer headers, logs, network records, or a shared link is sufficient to expose the full conversation.
