Unauthenticated router crash via oversized wps_set
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Netis WF2880 firmware 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash the router through a crafted CGI request. FUN_0046ed68 in cgitest.cgi retrieves the attacker-controlled wps_set form value and processes an oversized value without an effective bound, overflowing a heap buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is a crash that interrupts device service.
