Service interruption via oversized CGI parameter
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025
Buffer overflow in Netis WF2880 firmware 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash cgitest.cgi via a crafted request. FUN_00470c50 retrieves wl_mac_filter_set through get_form_value from a CGI table built from request data and accepts an oversized value into a buffer. Network access to the CGI endpoint is sufficient; successful exploitation crashes the process and interrupts the router service.
