Service crash via oversized wds_set CGI value
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025
Buffer overflow in cgitest.cgi in Netis WF2880 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash the service via a crafted wds_set value. FUN_0047151c retrieves attacker-controlled wds_set data from the CGI input table and processes the oversized value without enforcing the destination buffer's size. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation interrupts the CGI service by crashing its process.
