Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked CGI form values
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025
Buffer overflow in cgitest.cgi in Netis WF2880 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash the program via crafted form values. FUN_00473154 accepts attacker-controlled wl_sec_set_5g and wl_sec_rp_set_5g values returned by get_form_value without enforcing the destination buffer's capacity. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is a CGI-process crash that interrupts service.
