Arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in VJInfotech WP Import Export Lite 3.9.29 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files to the server. The wpie_parse_upload_data function accepts import uploads without validating whether their file types are safe before storing them on the WordPress host. Subscriber-level access and import permission granted by an Administrator are required; code execution depends on server handling of the uploaded file.
