Unauthenticated service crash via CGI buffer overflow
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025
Buffer overflow in cgitest.cgi in Netis WF2880 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash the CGI program with a crafted payload. Function_00465620 retrieves the attacker-controlled specify_parame value from the parsed CGI input table and passes it to an unchecked buffer-copy operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is a service-interrupting program crash.
