Service interruption via oversized CGI parameter
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025
Buffer overflow in cgitest.cgi in Netis WF2880 2.1.40207 allows remote attackers to crash the program via a crafted wl_base_set value. FUN_00471994 retrieves wl_base_set from a table built from CGI input and processes an oversized value without enforcing a safe length. Network access to cgitest.cgi is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is a crash and resulting service interruption, not code execution.
