Stored script execution via unsanitized group fields
Published Jul 18, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in MRCMS 3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through group names or descriptions. The group-saving endpoint stores those fields without sufficient input validation, and the group-management page renders the values as executable content. Exploitation requires high-privileged group-management access and a user to view the stored value; the script runs in that viewer's browser context.
