Unauthenticated redirects via trusted request headers
Published Jul 30, 2025 · Updated Jul 30, 2025
Host header injection in LinuxServer.io Heimdall 2.6.3-ls307 allows remote attackers to load external resources and redirect users. The home endpoint prioritizes X-Forwarded-Host over Host when building asset URLs, while POST /users/{id} reflects Referer into Location without same-origin validation. The home-page behavior requires no authentication; the Referer redirect was demonstrated during a regular-user profile update and can send users to an attacker-controlled domain.
