CVE-2025-5052Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory corruption via crafted LS command

Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 22, 2025

Buffer overflow in FreeFloat FTP Server 1.0 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory by sending a crafted LS command. The LS command handler accepts attacker-controlled command data and reaches an overflow, but published sources do not identify the specific unsafe memory operation. The FTP service must be network-accessible; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation alters memory or interrupts the server.
