Session hijacking via persistent password-change sessions
Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Improper session invalidation in PHPGurukul Student Result Management System 2.0 allows remote attackers to hijack employee sessions. The /elms/emp-changepassword.php endpoint fails to invalidate an existing PHP session after a password change, leaving the old session identifier accepted. Exploitation requires a still-valid employee session identifier and permits continued use of that session without reauthentication.
