Account hijacking via unrevoked password-change sessions
Published Jul 28, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Session invalidation failure in PHPGurukul Car Rental Project 3.0 allows attackers to hijack user sessions over the network. The /carrental/update-password.php component leaves an existing session valid after a password change instead of revoking it. Exploitation requires user interaction and control of an active session token, after which the attacker gains the affected account's access and can alter account data.
