Code execution via unsafe YAML deserialization
Published Aug 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 1, 2025
Unsafe deserialization in ModelScope ms-swift 3.6.3 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted YAML run configuration. tests/run.py passes the file selected by --run_config to yaml.load with FullLoader, permitting Python object construction during parsing. Exploitation requires control of that configuration file and execution of the test runner, granting code execution with the runner's privileges.
