Arbitrary file write via unsanitized archive paths
Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025
Path traversal in the wxapkg parser in Ackites KillWxapkg 2.4.0 through 2.4.1 allows attackers to write files via a crafted package. processFile passes each untrusted archive entry name to filepath.Join and opens the resulting path without ensuring that it remains under the output directory. A user must process the malicious wxapkg; successful traversal overwrites host files with attacker-supplied package content, while command execution requires a separately executable destination or later trigger.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
