Authenticated code execution via unchecked plugin archive
Published Aug 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025
Remote code execution in Grav CMS 1.7.48 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP via a malicious plugin ZIP upload. The /admin/tools/direct-install handler extracts and loads plugin archives without inspecting their contents for executable PHP files. Administrative access to Direct Install is required; the uploaded plugin runs as the PHP service account and can provide a reverse shell.
