CVE-2025-50123Public exploit

Root command execution via hostname injection

Published Jul 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Code injection in Schneider Electric EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert 8.3 and earlier allows local users to execute commands as root. The .bcsetup console script accepts hostnames containing a valid prefix followed by a semicolon and commands, then passes the entire value to execOSCmd during DNS resolution. Exploitation requires access to the privileged appliance setup console; command execution grants full control of server data and operation.
