Unauthenticated root code execution via folder names
Published Jul 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
OS command injection in Schneider Electric EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert 8.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute root commands. The unauthenticated /botpost/surveillance route uses an unvalidated nbCameraUid value to create a directory whose name is globbed into an unquoted Java command line during startup. HTTP must be enabled, despite being disabled by default, and command execution occurs after the Tomcat service restarts.
