Service interruption via undisclosed optimizer flaw
Published Jul 15, 2025 · Updated Jul 17, 2025
MySQL Server 8.0.0 through 8.0.42, 8.4.0 through 8.4.5, and 9.0.0 through 9.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to cause a hang or crash. Oracle identifies the Server Optimizer as the affected component but has not published the optimizer operation or crafted input that triggers the failure. Exploitation requires a high-privileged account and network access through a supported protocol; the bounded consequence is complete service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.0.42
