Authenticated database modification via undisclosed authorization flaw
Published Jul 15, 2025 · Updated Jul 17, 2025
Incorrect authorization in affected MySQL Server and MySQL Cluster releases allows remote authenticated users to modify database data. Oracle identifies Server: Optimizer and Cluster: General as the affected components but has not published the improper operation or accepted input that defeats authorization. Exploitation requires network access and a high-privileged account; successful attacks can create, delete, or modify critical or otherwise accessible data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.0.42
- Affected versionversion=8.4.0 <=8.4.5
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.3.0

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
