Stored script execution via unsanitized admin settings
Published Jun 20, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in WP Voting Contest Lite 5.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through admin settings. Admin settings accept insufficiently sanitized input and render it without adequate output escaping, causing injected scripts to run when a user opens the affected page. Editor-level access or higher is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites with unfiltered_html disabled.
