Account takeover via unauthenticated password reset
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Authentication bypass in QuantumCloud Simple Link Directory before 14.8.1 allows remote attackers to take over WordPress accounts. The qc-opd password-reset form accepts an account name and replacement password without an identity token, email confirmation, or capability check. No authentication or user interaction is required, and resetting an administrator's password grants access to that account.
