CVE-2025-49849

Memory corruption via malformed PRJ file parsing

Published Jun 17, 2025 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in GMWIN 4.18 allows context-dependent attackers to expose process memory through a crafted PRJ file. The PRJ parser fails to validate user-controlled file data before accessing allocated structures, causing reads and writes beyond their bounds. A victim must open or otherwise process the file locally; resulting memory corruption can expose data, alter process state, or crash the application.
