CVE-2025-49763Network attack vector

Remote service interruption via recursive ESI inclusion

Published Jun 19, 2025 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Apache Traffic Server 9.0.0 through 9.2.10 and 10.0.0 through 10.0.5 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The ESI plugin recursively resolves attacker-influenced esi:include instructions without a maximum inclusion depth, allowing nested responses to consume excessive memory. The plugin must be enabled and process an origin response marked for ESI transformation; the bounded consequence is availability loss from memory exhaustion.
