Unauthenticated account takeover via unverified email identity
Published Jun 12, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in AmentoTech Workreap 3.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to access registered accounts via email verification. The workreap_verify_user_account handler accepts an email address and establishes the corresponding user's session without properly verifying identity. Exploitation requires knowledge of the account email address and an unset confirmation_key, and the compromised account can be an administrator.
