Local code execution via undisclosed use-after-free
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Office Excel allows local users to execute code by opening a crafted file with an affected application. Microsoft has not disclosed the affected Excel component, the freed object's lifetime error, or the file structure that triggers the stale reference. Exploitation requires a user to open the file locally, and successful code runs in that user's security context across affected Office clients and Office Online Server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
