Authenticated code execution via unsafe DataSet deserialization
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Code injection in Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2016 and SharePoint Server 2019 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The DataSetSurrogateSelector class deserializes attacker-controlled data without adequate validation, executing payloads in the SharePoint web server process. A valid account is required for this CVE alone; chaining an authentication bypass exposes internet-facing servers without credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
