Remote code execution via RRAS double free
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Double free in Microsoft Windows Server RRAS allows remote attackers to execute code over a network after required user interaction. RRAS releases the same memory allocation twice, but Microsoft has not disclosed the affected function, input path, or operation that triggers the second release. Reachability requires RRAS to be installed and exposed to network traffic, and successful exploitation also requires user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
