Account takeover via readable session credential file
Published Jun 9, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Sensitive information exposure in Lablup Backend.AI 25.3.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to retrieve session credentials. When it starts an interactive session, the Agent writes the user's email address, access key, and session settings to /home/config/environ.txt, which the session's default user can read. Access to an interactive session is required; the disclosed access key permits actions as the session owner and enables account takeover.
