CVE-2025-49630Network attack vector

Service interruption via mod_proxy_http2 reachable assertion

Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Reachable assertion in mod_proxy_http2 in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.26 through 2.4.63 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The module permits a client-controlled request to reach an assertion failure; Apache has not disclosed the exact assertion or triggering input shape. Exposure requires an HTTP/2 reverse-proxy backend with ProxyPreserveHost set to on, and the resulting assertion interrupts service.
