Cross-project template creation via unchecked projectId
Published Aug 18, 2025 · Updated Aug 18, 2025
Improper access control in Lunary before 1.9.23 allows remote authenticated users to create templates in another user's project. The POST /v1/templates endpoint accepts a caller-supplied projectId without verifying project ownership, then persists the template under that unrelated project. Any valid low-privilege account can cross a project boundary and write unauthorized template data, but the flaw does not disclose data or interrupt service.
