CVE-2025-4960Public exploit

Root command execution via permissive XPC rights

Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026

Incorrect authorization in Seiko Epson EPSON Printer Controller Installer 1.0.0 and earlier allows local users to execute commands as root. The privileged helper accepts XPC clients without code-signing or identity checks and registers executeCommand and related rights with the allow rule. Any low-privileged macOS account can obtain those rights without a prompt and invoke the helper to run arbitrary commands as root.
