CVE-2025-49593Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via unrestricted reverse-proxy header forwarding

Published Jun 17, 2025 · Updated Jun 18, 2025

Information disclosure in Portainer LTS before 2.27.7 and STS before 2.31.0 allows remote attackers to obtain credentials or session tokens. The registry reverse-proxy director forwards incoming request headers to the configured registry without filtering sensitive authorization, cookie, CSRF-token, or API-key fields. Exploitation requires an administrator to register an attacker-controlled registry or the takeover of an existing registry; disclosed credentials and tokens expose their associated accounts.
