Remote code execution via incomplete macro analysis
Published Jun 13, 2025 · Updated Jun 13, 2025
Insufficient dangerous-operation warnings in XWiki Platform allow remote authenticated users to execute code after a privileged user edits a page. Required-rights analyzers ignore non-lowercase macro parameters and fail to inspect syntax-bearing parameters, including content and context source values, leaving malicious Groovy or Python macros hidden. Exploitation requires low-privileged page content and an edit by a user with programming rights; execution then runs attacker-supplied server-side code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 15.9-rc-1, < 16.4.7
- Affected versionversion=>= 16.5.0-rc-1, < 16.10.3
