CVE-2025-49579Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped menu heading messages

Published Jun 12, 2025 · Updated Jun 12, 2025

Stored XSS in StarCitizen.tools Citizen before 3.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through menu-heading messages. Menu.mustache uses an unescaped triple-brace placeholder for each heading label, causing MediaWiki system-message HTML to enter the DOM as markup. The editinterface right without editsitejs is sufficient, and a poisoned heading executes in browsers that render affected pages.
