CVE-2025-4951

Stored script execution via modified ScanName configuration

Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in Rapid7 AppSpider Pro before 7.5.018 allows local users to inject script through a ScanName value. The scan configuration parser accepts a directly edited ScanName containing special characters that the GUI rejects, then stores and renders the value without effective neutralization. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access to modify a configuration file and user interaction; successful execution can read or alter data available to the affected user session.
