Service crash via multipart length integer underflow
Published May 19, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Integer underflow in GNOME libsoup 3.6.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash applications or servers via crafted multipart messages. soup_multipart_new_from_message() inadequately validates multipart message values, allowing an internal length calculation to wrap and cause invalid-memory access. Exploitation requires a consuming application to process the attacker-controlled multipart message; the bounded consequence is process termination and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
