Authenticated file deletion via insufficient path validation
Published Jul 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in Odin_Design Vikinger 1.9.32 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. The vikinger_delete_activity_media_ajax() function accepts an insufficiently validated file path and deletes the referenced file. Subscriber-level access and an active Vikinger Media plugin are required; code execution follows when deletion of a critical file such as wp-config.php makes the site reconfigurable.
