Contributor-level stored XSS via shortcode output
Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in CodeManas Search with Typesense 2.0.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The shortcode handler processes contributor-controlled input and renders it without sufficient sanitization and output escaping, persisting the payload in WordPress content. Contributor-level access and a later page view are required; the script runs in the visitor's browser context and can alter displayed content or access session-visible data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
