Service disruption via unsigned backup re-upload
Published Jun 12, 2025 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Insufficient backup authenticity checks in SICK Field Analytics all versions allow remote authenticated users to disrupt services via a crafted ZIP. The backup workflow accepts a downloaded archive after its contents are modified because the application neither signs nor verifies the ZIP before re-upload. A low-privileged account can import configuration that prevents services from running or redirects internal traffic to attacker-hosted services, exposing information.
