Local denial of service via unchecked request skip
Published Jun 17, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Improper request handling in X.Org Xwayland before 24.1.7 allows local users to interrupt X client request processing. ReadRequestFromClient trusts a nonzero bytes-to-ignore value that exceeds the current request size and advances its input pointer into other clients' buffered requests. Low-privilege access to an X server connection is required; crafted requests can starve legitimate clients without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
