CVE-2025-49164Public exploit

Firmware disclosure via hard-coded decryption key

Published Jun 2, 2025 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

Hard-coded cryptographic key use in ARRIS VIP1113 devices through 2025-05-30 allows local users to decrypt KreaTV firmware images. The KreaTV firmware uses a fixed AES-256-ECB key, and the publicly disclosed value decrypts the protected kernel and root filesystem. Physical access to the set-top box or possession of its encrypted firmware is required, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of firmware contents.
