Information disclosure via automatic JSON schema requests
Published Jun 11, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Information disclosure in Anysphere Cursor before 0.51.0 allows remote attackers to exfiltrate agent-accessible data via crafted JSON. The enabled json.schemaDownload setting makes Cursor Agent issue an automatic HTTP GET to a schema URL embedded in JSON without confirmation. Exploitation requires prior control of the agent through a second exploit such as prompt injection, and the reported consequence is data disclosure.
