Connection interception via unenforced channel binding requirement

Improper authentication in PostgreSQL JDBC Driver 42.7.4 through 42.7.6 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept database connections. ConnectionFactoryImpl accepts non-SASL authentication requests without enforcing channelBinding=require or confirming completion of a SASL exchange. Exploitation requires an intercept position and the non-default required setting; password, MD5, GSS, SSPI, or skipped authentication can lose the expected server-binding protection.
