Authenticated file disclosure via unvalidated outline path
Published Jun 9, 2025 · Updated Jun 10, 2025
Path traversal in HAX CMS PHP before 11.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through the saveOutline endpoint. The endpoint writes an unvalidated location value into site.json, which the CMS later resolves as a content path and renders outside the site directory. Low-privileged CMS access with JWT and CSRF tokens is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the web server account.
